Who I am, Is SO much....

In anticipation of World Down syndrome day I write today's post in honor of Lucas, my 18 month old son, who has taught us so much without really even knowing it yet.  When you think about it, it's pretty incredible that such a little person can be a teacher of many things to all walks of life and to all he meets. I like to think these things don't happen by accident but instead they are a part of fate that serve a greater purpose of hope, love and the possibility of what will be. On 3/21 we not only celebrate Lucas but all those that rock an extra chromosome and everyone who loves and supports them unconditionally!

On September 8, 2011, Lucas taught us he is warrior having been born with also a hole in his heart which doctors said would require oxygen but he was able to breath on his own. Proving them wrong.

He showed mommy right away he is a charmer as he nestled into her neck providing her warmth and peace.

He is theatrically gifted as he constantly shows off his "jazz hands" any time he can.

He is a budding artist.

He is a man of the 21st century with his tech savvy skills.

He is a rock star in the making.

He is an animal enthusiast.

 He is a good friend.

He enjoys playing dress-up.

He enjoys fun and games.

 He is first class traveler.

He is a jokester.

He is an avid reader.

He is a loving cousin, nephew and grandson.

He is an inspiration to many.

But most of all Lucas is who he is supposed to be!

This was created as a tribute to my son who has made my heart more full than I could have ever imagined. May you all be blessed to know how this feels!
