A little DT

The week got by us before we got a chance to share the latest happenings we are learning in Developmental Therapy... AKA DT.  This is the therapy session that brings everything together so you pull in a little PT, Speech and OT into the mix and just have fun. Today's session was very fun as we got to play and sing lots of songs all while working for a handful of minutes on lots of different activities.  This really works well as it helps keeps Lucas' attention span and also keeps him very engaged. I was pretty impressed to see his level of energy and enthusiasm on this day. We recently moved up our DT time so I think starting off first thing in the morning really has a lot to do with it.  The other thing I have noticed in Lucas' therapy sessions is that the other children in his daycare class help motivate him as he watches what they do or likes to show off what he is doing to them.  In any case it is a win-win for our therapy sessions.

Working on shape placement and colors

More fine motor skills as we place a clothespin through the small opening

Placing red pegs together

Drawing lines from top to bottom with assistance

Working with sticky stuff....stickers!

Finally figuring out where they go and how to get the sticker off his finger!

Totally amazed!

Using a marker to make dots

Using sensory building blocks to make a tower

"Oh yea mom....I got this!!"
